Simon Field's Story...
Hi, my name is Simon Field! I love to know where my humans are, so I will follow you all around and be your helper. I also enjoy playing fetch, which my foster mom says makes me "dog-like" whatever that means! I love a good cuddle, but I also play hard and love soft tiny toys! Sleeping between my people is my favorite--it is so cozy on the bed! I get along great with other cats, too. I was born in the woods behind some people's house and when my mommy didn't come home, the people started feeding me and then got in touch with JCAPL. I loved living in a house for the first time, and now I am ready to find my forever family. Adopt me, please!

Are you interested in adopting Simon Field or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Simon Field.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simon Field, a Smithfield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
