Meet Teddy!

He is a 1 year old terrier (possibly american dingo) mix, weighing 30lbs. He loves his kong toy, stuffed animals, balls, ropes (pretty much everything).

He loves any sort of treats and I have him on Science Diet kibble. We have 1 cat and 2 dogs and he plays very well with them. He loves being chased by dog friends and playing tug of war. He loves walks and the dog park, but still gets a little nervous in public. He was on the urgent list at the arlington shelter due to fearfulness. He is nervous around new people, but is warming up quicker and quicker. I don't know how he would be around kids. Older, mature kids would be best. He does not like to be alone and would do best in a house (no apartments) with a dog friend to be with during the day. He is definitely an indoor dog, but loves to play outside with his dog and human friends. He knows, sit, down, stay and we are working on shake. He is crate and potty trained and can either sleep in his crate or in one of his dog beds. He also loves snuggling up next to him humans for a nap. He is all legs and ears :) He is a bit of an attention hog and nudges me when petting my pups. He always wants to be by your side smothering you with kisses.

Quirks: He talks. Not barking, but a groan/whine type of thing when he wants to snuggle or go outside. He is a bit mouthy. He's is still in puppy mode and he likes to mouth everything, but hasn't destroyed anything. He also clicks his jaws when he is excited. It sometimes makes people nervous, but he actually does it when he is super happy and excited.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
