Winnie is an owner surrender.  We feel like she would grow and thrive if she was the only dog in the home because she has some anxiety and is nervous about new things. She is a beautiful Rhodesian/ hound (possibly mastiff) mix. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home now that she is settled in and weighs about 40 lbs.

She is shy around new people, new animals, new sounds, smells.  She is
perfectly calm when he is in his house and his yard.  Winnie just needs to be loved and protected in her forever home.

She was found off of Hwy 30 and Winslow (by the fair) in pretty rough shape, but doing better already.  She needs to put on a few pounds and his slight skin irritation (possibly flea allergy) needs to clear up.  She is eating regularly and on antibiotics. She's got a small limp where a car may have hit him while lose on the street, but the vet says she's a very healthy girl.

My foster mom describes me as very affectionate, good natured, lazy, smart, charming, silly, clumsy, cuddly, sweet, and very loyal.  She just wants to sit next to you and get all the love.  She enjoys going on long walks and is house trained.
If you want a calm and loving dog then Winnie is the pup for you.

Please submit an application to adopt at
Her adoption fee is $250 which covers a vet check, spay, microchip and vaccinations.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
