He is a superb snuggler and loves lounging on the sofa with his foster mom or kids watching TV. He loves playing outside with the water hose and LOVES swimming in the family pool. He is learning to bring back the toy so it can be thrown back into the pool to make the splash he loves to dive for!
Going for walks is still somewhat unnerving for Roland, as his survival instincts make him hyper aware of all noises around him, and his flight desire is strong when faced with unfamiliar sights and sounds. He needs a very patient and experienced home that can continue to show him the safe side of the world outside. Roland survived, while lost, for a number of months after jumping over a fence, and has to be considered a heightened flight risk. He cannot be left unattended in a yard, and needs high, secure fences and another dog for companionship and a sense of security.
Roland is very smart and food motivated, and tends to be quiet but with a good amount of energy that requires regular exercise. He will reward you with lots of kisses and snuggles and attention!
Special Considerations for Adoption: *Roland will do best with older children only. He needs the presence of another large dog to make him feel secure.
