Riley's Personality

Very loving and gentle dog who needs to be your constant companion. He's very happy and well adjusted when he's kept on consistent schedule (walks, naps, food, and play). He was a rescue and does not like to be alone. He's a very quick learner, responds well to basic commands. He doesn't bark much, but when he does its masculine and loud, which we like.

The owner loves the following traits in Riley:
He's very cuddly. He's perfectly still during bath time and likes peek a boo when you rub him down with the towel. He's makes it known he prefers warm water, even if just a short swim. He loves going for rides in the car. He is particularly keen toward obstacle course type play. For example, during fetch he may randomly add his own twist to play time, like making a detour to jump over a bush, or run around a chair, or lap around the pool.

Reason For Rehoming Riley

New job requires travel overseas and I can't take him with me.

If you would like to consider offering Riley a loving, forever home, please fill out our Request To Meet A Pet form here:

Once received, we will contact you to discuss your request and set up a mutually convenient time to meet Riley and their owner in their home.

About Houston Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters and rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
