Toy Poo/Maltese mix (9.5”/7.8 lbs), female, white, ~4 yrs old.
Update on Diamond: Diamond was adopted in May. She was returned to rescue because the adoptive family did not feel that she was making fast enough progress. They did say that she had not had a seizure while in their care.
Reason in Rescue: Health issues?? (bad knees) Diamond was unknowingly purchased from a puppy mill. She does have floating knee caps, but our vet does not feel they are that severe (ex-rays have been taken). Now that she has been exercising, they are not an issue now. She has has a few seizures since she joined our rescue. She has been on medication that costs about $19 per month and has not had a seizure since. Diamond is a precious little thing that needs training on all levels. She is a puppy mill dog with lots of love to give once she learns how to be a dog. She is unsure of people but wags her tail at you all the time. Diamond needs a home with other dog(s) to help her learn how great it is to be a dog. She needs a securely fenced yard. She is making progress on house training. We do not know about cats. She would be terrified of small children.
