Facts about Sweden

  • Breed: Border Collie Mix
  • Color: White - With Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Sweden came to Louie's Legacy very scared and timid. After a few days of working with her, she now comes up to her foster family on her own and is starting to come around. Even though she is slowly coming out of her shell, she needs to be with a family who will continue to work with her confidence. She will go for walks, but will mostly just stand at your feet and nudge you to show her affection. Working with Sweden has consisted of allowing her to come out of her crate on her own terms, also allowing her to go in her crate anytime she pleases, and allowing her to follow her foster parents around without being coached. By giving her the chance to do these things on her own terms, it's building her confidence that she previously did not have. While working with Sweden, her fosters have been using lots of love for motivation, as that is what she craves the most. Sweden is the perfect dog for a family who will be willing to continue to work on her confidence. If you want to make Sweden a part of your family, apply online today!

To adopt this pet, please visit www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.

An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please email your confirmation number to info@louieslegacy.org

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption application is located at www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
Each animal is treated for any illness found upon arrival, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative and current on prevention, up to date on vaccines for their age including combo vaccine, bordatella, and rabies, as well as on flea prevention. The adoption fee covers this care, and any excess goes toward the care of the other animals in rescue.
