Earl's Story...
Earl is a 6-month-old non-racing greyhound puppy that was surrendered to the Benson Animal Shelter by a breeder. He has had his wellness check, shots, and his neuter surgery. He has a bowed left front leg and we are working with the vet to consider options available for having it repaired. He lived in the kennel working with our trainer and learned some basic behavior. He is now in a longer term foster home and learning how to be a good dog. He is likely to stay in this home after we are done dealing appropriately with his leg. We will share more about this cute guy as we get to know him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Earl, a Tucson Greyhound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tucson, or seeking a Greyhound puppy from a breeder in Tucson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tucson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tucson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tucson paves the way for another one to be saved.
