The name Popeye likely puts in mind large strong muscles, and while it does describe this big strong puppy, Popeye is sweet as candy and has a heart of gold! Popeye came to us from Louisiana. He was found wandering in a pasture with an eye injury. Unfortunately, we were not able to save the one eye, but this hasn't slowed him down at all. In his very short life, Popeye has been through so much and finally enjoying what it means to be a 'puppy’.

Popeye is an incredibly sweet boy who loves to play with everyone and he loved his belly rubs! He is dog and cat friendly; however he hasn't been around children yet. He likes to play with stuffed toys and do typical puppy things like untying shoelaces and giving lots of puppy kisses. Popeye is currently working on his leash training, crate training and potty trained. While he is currently being trained and can sit on command, occasionally his puppy exuberance and the renowned Pyr Paw still gets the best of him with a jump for joy. He would do best in a home with another large dog to be his guide and with a family that will give lots of affection! Popeye is growing fast, microchipped, and ready to start a bright future. There is a lot for a puppy to learn so he will need to find a home where someone is very available to him in these early days.

Like all small puppies, he will need someone who can be home with him a lot and provide him with love, patience and boundaries to help him become a loyal companion. This cute little fella is not going to be little for long. Now is the best time to jump in and continue mentoring him. It is going to be so fun watching him fill out and fit into those big paws.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone between 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you nor the puppy. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) You must have a plan in place to properly socialize your puppy. 6) The FASTEST way to be considered for a puppy is to submit an application. We are continuously working through applications, including those that were received in advance of yours. It is very likely that by the time your application has been approved, the puppy may no longer be available. 7) Please do not inquire about a puppy's availability; if the listing is still appears on our site, the puppy is still available. Emailing for status updates will only result in a delay of your application review, and put you to the back of the line. All of the individuals responsible for reviewing applications are volunteering what little bit of time s/he has in addition to their own dogs, families, careers, and responsibilities. Though we do our best to evaluate ALL applications swiftly, submissions for adult dogs do take priority - there are an abundant amount of people that only want to adopt a puppy.

All of our dogs require secure and VISIBLE fencing.

Adoption Fee: $375
* Note to NW Adopters: The adoption fee does not include the cost of transport.
