Barney's Story...
Barney was another stray roaming the streets of So Carolina when he was taken to the shelter. He's adorable to us but no one down there was as taken with his adorable looks as we were so he came up to the Big Apple and is now looking for his furever home with a family where her will be treated like the royalty we think he must be!

Barney has this big head on a short body and is really such a Barney! He's about 35 lbs, fully vetted, housebroken and crate trained although he does not need one.

He can be dog selective with dogs that get in his face and try to dominate him.

If you are interested in meeting Barney please prepare to fall in love with him. Everyone who's seen him has so we're sure you will too.

Barney is located in Freeport NY

Adoption fees do apply.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Freeport Basset Hound/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Basset Hound/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Basset Hound/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
