Meet handsome Tuffy - a suitable name for a dog who was accidentally kicked by a horse and lived to tell the story! He sustained an injury to his eye that ultimately had to be removed. Having sight in only one eye doesn't slow down this young boy a bit! Tuffy would love a home with active, outdoorsy people to give him ample exercise and stimulation. He loves all people and would be a wonderful companion to any family with older or teenage children. Tuffy LOVES other dogs! A successful home may have a canine companion for play and to help show him the ropes of home life. Loving people as much as he does, he'd prefer to have someone around quite a bit. He does have fairly strong separation anxiety and needs to work slowly with gradual departure exercises. He can be prone to anxiety when out for walks and seems to do much better with familiar people and territory. Tuffy has not had a lot of experiences with cars and can be very scared of going into one. He absolutely needs an adopter with the time and willingness to work on gradual practice getting him comfortable getting into a car and learning it's not a bad experience.
This gem of a dog can't wait to find a new home where he will be cherished. Come meet him at the West Vancouver SPCA today!

About BC SPCA - West Vancouver Branch

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/WestVancouver for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
