Sandy's Story...
Sandy here- reporting on my special assignment for Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. Yep, the humans chose ME to be their lunch date to help them check out the dog friendly patio at Cibo restaurant downtown!

We started with a little car ride (I'm great in the car!) and the humans gave me a new toy. That was really nice of them, but I was too excited to pay much attention to my toy- I'm more of a cuddle up with my people kind of gal anyway! When we got to the restaurant, everyone that saw me said how cute I was. I'm such a happy, wiggly dog, people tend to take notice of me! I was hoping to get a tour of the whole place (ie the KITCHEN!), but the humans sat down at a table in the shade instead. I was still pretty excited, but I sat politely and waited for my lunch. The waitress came out right away with a bowl of water just for me- how nice was that?! My chicken was delicious, but sorry, no pictures- I gobbled it up way too fast! The humans seemed to enjoy their food too, since they ate it all and forgot to share with me, BOL. After lunch, I was ready for my photo shoot. We sat on the bench and cuddled and talked for a bit. Sandy cuddles are my speciality! They're world famous, truly- adopt me and I'll show you! I was pretty exhausted after my big lunch date, so my new friends let me take a nap in their quiet office. I love nap time! I'm looking forward to having more adventures like this one, but hopefully with my furever family!

If you're looking for a super sweet, happy-go-lucky new best friend, pick ME! You can visit me at the East Valley shelter in Mesa, 2630 W. Rio Salado Pkwy. Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun.

I enjoy the company of other dogs around my size, so if you have a dog from home, please bring them in so we can meet. I am five years old and my adoption fee is $20, which includes spay, rabies certificate and County license. My ID number will help you find me- A3824235.

Hope to see you SOON!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
