MATTHEW NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Matthew    Breed: Lab mix

Approximate Age: 2     SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 58 lbs.

Has Lived With: Other dogs

Currently Living at: Scary shelter. Matthew needs a foster or forever home!

Ever heard the expression 'after a hurricane comes a rainbow'? Matthew is sure hoping you have and that you can be his rainbow! He was found in South Carolina after hurricane Matthew, his namesake, ripped its way through town.

Matthew is a two-year old lab mix looking for a family to call his own, and to protect him from any more storms. Can that be you? He's a hearty boy, weighing about 58 lbs. He would love to live with a someone that will take him on a lot of long walks and to shower him in love and treats! He's feeling a little blue following the storm, but knows you can be the one to turn that around!

Like most shelter dogs, Matthew may need a refresher on housetraining, and would really love some obedience classes to teach him how to be the best boy! He is likely crate trained.

Matthew has tested positive and is being treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Kyndra at kyndras@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
