My life started not so great. My old owners moved and left me to fend for myself. I found myself pregnant and living on the streets. When it came time for me to give birth, I made a den in a nice person's backyard in the dirt under an old couch. The concerned citizen called VOCAL, who came and rescued me and my 6 babies. We were taken to a loving foster home, where my babies and I were well cared for. My babies have since been weaned and adopted and I myself have been spayed. I was so scared and skinny when I first got to my foster home. Since coming to my foster home though, I have blossomed into a well fed and loved girl. I am just learning how to walk on a leash, but I enjoy going outside in my fenced backyard. I do go potty outside in the yard and enjoy sunning myself. I am crate trained. I do need a very patient, kind, and loving person or persons to adopt me. I still need lots of training and understanding. My foster mom has been great and has really gotten me to come out of my shell. I love to destroy stuffed animals and play tug of war. I am very food motivated, and it is how my foster mom and the trainer get me to learn and be comfortable with new experiences.

About VOCAL - Voices of Change Animal League, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We have seen the issues of pet overpopulation firsthand. Our board members, staff and volunteers have worked with local animal shelters and have seen the thousands of animals in Marion County that have nowhere to go, who are often abandoned and/or killed. We also recognize the strength of the human-animal bond and have witnessed the situations that animals often fall into during a family crisis. We have made it our mission to help these animals. We hope you will join us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We don't have a shelter facility; all of our animals are in foster care. We think this is pretty great! Having adoptable animals in foster homes teaches them pet manners such as housebreaking and social skills. It also allows us to learn a lot about the animals and helps us determine the type of home the animal will be most successful in.

If you are wondering how to meet an animal you are interested in adopting, you have to fill out an application first. Then, if we feel you could be a fit, we set up a home visit and meet and greet with the animal.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption fee for both dogs and cats, an application, and a home visit. We end the process with our adoption contract.

If you are interested in applying for one of our animals, please visit our website www.vocalforpets.org. Our dog and cat applications can be found under the "Paperwork" heading or on the "Adopt" page.

We accept multiple applications on all of our animals; we believe in finding the best fit home. We don't place animals on a first come, first serve basis. Once we receive your application, we will reach out to you to review your application if we feel you could potentially provide the best fit home for the animal.
