At the age of 11-years-young, Asia is a super sweet senior dog. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more photogenic pup than her – the camera loves Asia! She’s a Pomeranian who weighs about 15 pounds and she’s great with other small dogs. We aren’t sure how Asia would do with cats or large dogs. She is completely deaf and, because of that, can “spook” easily, so young children would not be a good fit for her forever home. An older child (such as a teenager) who is gentle and understanding of Asia’s loss of hearing may work.

Asia is a gentle soul who is lovely and well-behaved. She hasn’t required any discipline in her foster home whatsoever. She does display some separation anxiety and does not like to be left alone, so a family where someone is usually home will be a great fit for Asia. As mentioned, she is completely deaf, so she’ll need someone willing to work with what she needs in order to communicate. Getting on her level, making eye contact, and gentle gestures are most effective. Asia is already housetrained and walks well on a leash; however, she cannot go for long walks as she tires easily.

The “lap of luxury” where Asia can be pampered in her golden years would make her heart so happy. Asia absolutely loves getting lots of attention and belly rubs, and would be best in a home where she is always around her humans.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Asia, a Barriere Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Barriere, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Barriere.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Barriere already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Barriere breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Barriere paves the way for another one to be saved.
