Hi! My name is Athena! I'm a young shepherd mix, about a year old they say. Although I had a rough start, my foster mom is teaching me how awesome being a house dog can be. I love people!! I can't help it sometimes though that my tail can crack like a whip when I'm happy. I just shake what my mama gave me! I'm pretty gentle with kids, and even though I can sometimes jump up on people, I don't with tiny humans. I'm still learning how to be confident in myself, I had to fight pretty hard before I was rescued so I'm still learning not all dogs want to fight with me; but I do know that I no longer have to fight for food so I'm not worried when other dogs are around when I'm eating. I do need to know other dogs will be nice to me so please make sure you introduce me properly to them!
I came into rescue with a broken toe, so it had to be amputated, but I run just as fast with my missing digit as any other dog. I don't even notice that it is gone.
I'm crate trained, although sometimes I cry for a bit, I know the fun had to stop at some point for the day, I just want to make sure you know!
I'm proud to say I'm house trained and can walk on a leash no problem. People have talked about these other four legged critters called cats... I don't know what they are so I'm not sure if I'll like them, guess we will see! I'm ready to find my furever family so me, my big ears and happy tail can start my new life!
