Mugsy's Story...
This handsome little butter ball is Mugsy, a 5 1/2 month old kitten that came to us when he was just a tiny little guy of 8 weeks old. He was found as a stray with his siblings, who all needed a little help. They went into the foster care of our wonderful animal control officer, who nurtured them and gave them good care and TLC for several weeks. Now they're big and strong, and ready for homes of their own. Mugsy is a shy and reserved little guy that takes some quiet reassurance to let him know that it's safe to come out of his shell. He will come out of his shell, just give him time. Once he gets comfortable with you, he will roll around and get all lovable and mushy, but you must be patient. If you are, the reward in the end will be a sweet and lovable little guy that will adore you for the rest of his life. Mugsy has never known a real home of family of his own but he's anxious to find out what it's all about. He gets along great with other cats and would love to be a part of your family if you just give him a chance. File#26480 7/20/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mugsy, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
