Facts about Blackie

  • Breed: Border Collie/Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Blackie is great with other dogs and enjoys playing with them whenever he gets a chance, it is like a puppy bulb went off on him and he realizes that all is well, and it is just fine to pounce, play fight, run, bark and have a good time with other dogs. He likes being with others but is just fine on his own as well. He is eager to please and wants to be inside with you. His only issue is that he will occasionally jump a normal 4 ft. size chain link fence but most of the time now that he is used to his surroundings will go directly to the front door to be let inside. He is used to sleeping in the bed with a person and with another dog. He is more energetic compared to his brother Brownie but compared to normal dogs his energy level is about average. Loves to walk on a leash and will get vocal when you ask if he wants to go. Will definitely let you know when someone is at your door or has pulled up into your drive. Not a digger, not destructive, no bad habits other than he can and will jump a fence so will require a home where he is strictly an inside dog that get walked daily or a home with a privacy fence. Can be adopted alone or with his brother Brownie. To adopt please go to our website and complete the pre-adoption application http://www.southernskiesrescue.org
