Dougal's Story...
Hey! Wassup?! Dougal here. Who are you? You wanna pet me, pick me up and snuggle me?? *meow, meow* Come on…you know you wanna be my pal. I’m just a little guy, but I’m a good kitten…I try to be anyways (that’s what counts). I’m 4 months old, already neutered, very social with other cats and people. Guess what? I’ve been waiting to go home since I was just a wee little meow. My sister and I were in foster care for a while before moving to the shelter. Our foster home was so nice; there were other cats and even those weird dog creatures. I don’t remember much about my last family, but they tell me my Momma had us and the people didn’t want to care of fur babies. They say we are so close to finding a home. I sure hope so, ‘cuz I’ve been waiting my whole life for a family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dougal, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
