Pepper's Story...
Pepper is a 5 year Rat Terrier who just arrived. She is a tad bit overweight at 30 lbs. so needs an active person or family that will help her get the exercise that she needs! Pepper thrives in a calmer setting, so a quieter home would be perfect for her. We believe she gets along with other dogs, but will test her in the upcoming days.

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application. Send an email request to adoptions@caninerescue.org or call us at 716/326-PAWS for an application or if you are on the website (caninerescue.org), the application is below. Please double check any phone numbers you are providing on your application. If the numbers are not correct, we will not be able to process your application. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Westfield Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Westfield, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Westfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Westfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Westfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Westfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
