Othello's Story...
Othello is a male rescued from the streets of the Maryland suburbs. He actually adopted his foster dad who was walking back from the store. Cat met human, and home they went! This guy is gorgeous! With his striking black coat and dancer's physique, his presence will improve the finest home decor. His athletic build isn't just for looks, either. He'll tirelessly chase a pounce-toy with leaps and bounds, and still be wrestling with his end long after you've dropped yours.

Othello's other indoor skills are progressing as well. He can binge-watch with the best of them, and warm a lap as long as any couch potato! He can't seem to get enough stroking, head rubs being his favorite. Just hold out your hand and he'll do all the work. He is not choosy at dinner time. He'll eat pretty much any cat food that appears before him.

Othello is rather too playful for the quiet older cats in his foster home, and play pouncing is one of his fun cat games. So he’ll be best in a home with another playful young male cat, or in the company of laid back cool cats uninterested in ruling the roost. He could also be an only cat.

Othello was born about October 2015. He has been neutered, vaccinated (rabies, distemper, and Felv), micro chipped, and tested negative for FIV/Felv.

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
