Facts about Chaney

  • Breed: Amazon
  • Color: Green
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: $400.00
This is Chaney. She is a Mexican Red-Headed Amazon, presumed to be female, and approximately 35 years old. She was very very loved and cared for by her previous owner, but she unexpectedly passed away and her husband was left to take care of her. She is strictly female preferential and will NOT be adopted out to a male NO EXCEPTIONS. Amazons tend to be one person birds, and It can often take them extended amounts of time to bond with a new human, therefore someone willing to work with her consistently would be ideal. She is not your typical loud amazon and is relatively quiet most of the time. She loves hanging out on top of her cage, riding on your shoulder, and loves having her head scratched and being loved once she gets to know you. Being that Chaney is an older amazon, she would do best in a quiet home with a retired woman who would have plenty of time to spend with her. She would not do well in a busy or loud home, with children, or with other birds.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Birdlink Sanctuary is not open to the public. Any and all visits are conducted on an appointment basis only.

Our Adoption Process...

All interested adopters must have an adoption application on file with us prior to visitation. We strive to find each bird the best possible home that will compliment their personality, and we do believe that the birds pick their new owners, therefore, we do require that potential adopters spend some time with the bird they are interested in. If you seem like a good match for one of the birds, You will be contacted to schedule an appointment to come out and meet the birds. Note that application does not guarantee adoption. Home visits as well as references are generally required to ensure that our birds will not be placed in breeder situations, with hoarders, or other unsuitable environments. We will however, make exceptions for the right home.
