* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 10th from 1-4pm and Sunday, December 11th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Maple is an almost 1 year old GSD-Hound mix who weighs about 65lbs. She's still kind of on the thinner side and needs to fill out. She was an owner surrender to our rescue because she got too big and the owner wasn't able to handle her.  She's a great dog who gets along with other dogs. She currently lives with several big dogs. She is an option for going to the dog park or doggy day camp. She could also join another dog in her foster home.

Maple sleeps in a crate at night. She's an appropriately active dog who isn't the high GSD energy but more the goofy, droopy, derp derp kind of behavior of a hound who lays around and has spurts of energy. She would do well with daily walks, occasional visits to the dog park or a leisurely stroll along the beach. Maple could be a hiking dog if she wasn't expected to go quickly and with earnest but more with a go with the flow, 'enjoy smelling the roses' type of journey.

Maple is an option for kids over the age of 8. She is best suited for those who have had a dog in the last 3 years.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
