When we received an urgent plea from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to help out with some of the overcrowded shelters in NC that were affected by Hurricane Matthew in October, we knew we had to help. We took in 15 animals that had to be moved so room could be made for animals that were displaced from the disaster. All will spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped before they leave our shelter.
10-20-16 approx 4-5 months old. Cute, petite, and sweet as her name suggests, Almond Joy is one of several kittens who came to us from North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew forced local shelters to reach out to us when they became overcrowded with displaced animals. This lovely little girl is a real looker, with soft calico markings, an adorable tan stripe down the middle of her nose, and the biggest round eyes you've ever seen. A gentle, affectionate kitten with a surprisingly hearty purr, Almond Joy would much rather cuddle than roughhouse with her pint-sized pals. She's a polite little lady who knows her way around a scratching post and who can't wait to find a home of her own where she can curl up for a good nap after she does her nails. So come on in and meet this little sweetheart. She is just waiting to make your family complete!
*Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.
