Nuggin's Story...
Nuggin is an old gal who is set in her ways…luckily her ways happen to include getting attention from her people. She does prefer it on her terms though, she can be quite independent, but when she’s in the mood she will cry and head butt for attention. She is on medication for hyperthyroidism, so interested adopters will need to take that into account. Other than that, Nuggin still acts and behaves like a healthy senior kitty. She enjoys napping in cozy spots and ruling whatever roost she becomes a part of. Stop on by the shelter today and meet Nuggin to see if this golden oldie is the one for you. - See more at:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nuggin, a West Kennebunk Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in West Kennebunk, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in West Kennebunk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Kennebunk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Kennebunk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Kennebunk paves the way for another one to be saved.
