Affectionate Zack is a terrific companion and is looking for a like-minded human to love. This adorable terrier mix is a middle-aged guy, so no need to overcome annoying puppy stuff or juvenile shenanigans. This mild mannered, self-entertaining boy just wants someone to love, a little exercise every day (he could lose a little weight for his health's sake)and a lap to snuggle in on those long, cold winter nights.

This sweet little man lived all his life with one person and now is a tad shy about opening up his social world. But thanks to devoted Pet Pal dog walkers and a host of shelter friends, Zack looks forward to spending time with people. Even so, he's not a party boy. A nice quiet household will be best for him; he gets pretty scared when there are sudden noises or movements. Since children are normally pretty quick to move, and make unusual noises at times, Zack would like to live with adults only. He might also do well with another dog, if they like each other. Previously, he lived with other smaller dogs and likes the small dogs he's met here. Another dog can sometimes help a new dog learn the ropes faster.

Confidence building through Small Dog Classes will help with bonding, too. We think his tail will be up and wagging once he knows how much fun learning is, and that he has a great team on his side (YOU). Mental stimulation is mighty important for dogs, as well as exercise. A nice daily walk around town will suit him well, along with an eye on his daily caloric intake. When training, use great treats; stuff he really likes. Then consider feeding a little less at meal time.

Zack is beginning to show his true character, which is wonderful and lovely. We hope you will be able to see the grand future he has given love, patience, education and the attention he deserves. Where else can you find so much love in return in such a compact package?
