When we received an urgent plea from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to help out with some of the overcrowded shelters in NC that were affected by Hurricane Matthew in October, we knew we had to help. We took in 15 animals that had to be moved so room could be made for animals that were displaced from the disaster. All will spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped before they leave our shelter.

: On your mark… get set… PLAY! That’s Oscar’s motto as soon as he jumps out of his cage in Kitten Nook. One of several kittens who came to us from North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew forced local shelters to reach out to us when they became overcrowded with displaced animals, this little brown tabby and white fellow is ready for action and raring to go! He especially loves to jump at a string toy or chase a plastic coil around the room. So if you’re looking for a good-looking athlete to make your family complete, look no further than Oscar. He will surely fit the bill!
*Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.
