I'm Truffles and I'm a 1-1/2 year old brown tabby with some white thrown in. I have been here at the shelter with my daughters, Trixie and Tigress, giving them the best possible start in life. My little ones are ready to be on their own now, which means I am, too. Come and meet me and let's make a life together. I will be happy to let you pet me and cuddle with me and generally wait on me any time you want. You can find me lazing around in the sunshine and cuddled up on a nice soft bed. I will also be happy to nestle into your lap as soon as you sit down. Don't delay--come pick me today!!

I am yours for a donation to the shelter. Bring in something from our wish list and you may take me home!!

About Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
