XANDER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Xander    Breed: Cattle Dog mix

Approximate Age: 1 1/2 years old     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 30-35 lbs

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: Shelter. Foster is still needed.

Hola! My name is Xander, and I'm a 1.5-year-old Cattle Dog mix, weighing in at about 30-35 pounds! I'll be rolling into the DC area soon all the way from Puerto Rico, so as you can guess, I am muy emocionado!

I've been living with a bunch of other dogs, and the nice people here in Puerto Rico have been taking good care of me, but it's time to find something a little more permanent. I can't wait to go on long walks, play with my buddies at the dog park, and help you pick out treats at the pet store! Oooh, that sounds like so much fun, don't you think? Plus, the holidays are coming up... you don't want to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Winter holidays without me, do you?

I'm not sure whether how I would do with kids or cats, but we can certainly figure that out once I arrive. Also, I sure would like you to sign us up for a doggy obedience class or two so I can work on my manners and show you what a good boy I can be.

So, what do you say? Could yours be the right new familia for me? Go ahead and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Xander may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
