Grace's Story...
Hi everybody! I was recently rescued by some wonderful volunteers at Henrico Humane Society. Now I’m looking for my very own forever home. I hear they’re pretty great!

I’m just starting to learn about the indoor life and all it has to offer. So far I know that people are very nice, it doesn’t rain inside (except from that shiny metal spout in the bathroom), and in here, I get all the yummy food I want. I definitely can’t complain about any of that!

Check back in on me soon to learn more about my adventures in being an indoor kitty. Or better yet, take me home with you so we can start our own adventure together!

If you'd like to meet me, please email cats@henricohumane.org to setup a visit. Don't forget to tell them you want to meet Grace!

If you're not sure which cat you're interested in or are just beginning to search for a companion, our adoption coordinators can help! Just fill out a short questionnaire at: www.henricohumane.org/adopt/cat-adoption-questionnaire/ that will help us match you with our wonderful cats then visit us at our Adoption Stand at West Broad Petco (next to Trader Joe's) every Saturday from 11:00 to 3:00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Grace, a Richmond American Bobtail cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bobtail for sale in Richmond, or seeking a American Bobtail cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bobtail breeders who help with American Bobtail rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
