Gillaspie and Madison's Story...
Hey everybody, I’m Gillaspie, and that’s my baby sister, Madison. We are best friends! Madison and I were rescued, along with our four other siblings, when we really tiny. Now that we’ve grown up a bit, we’re on the hunt for the perfect forever home, where we can stay together and be showered with attention.
I’m a pretty unique little gal. I have an extra toe on all four paws! My foster mom says it makes me even cuter because I look like a kitten with mittens. I think she’s silly, but I agree, I am really cute. Miss Madison is also pretty special with her swirly gray markings on her back.

We have two favorite things in life, well maybe three – playing, snuggling, and snacking. We love to run and climb and chase toys all over the place. I give a little growl when I have my favorite mouse just in case someone was thinking about taking it from me. My foster mom says it’s adorable. I think it’s fierce. Miss Madison isn’t as picky with her toys as I am; she’ll play with anything! When playtime is over, it’s off to our foster mom’s lap for a little rest and relaxation.

We don’t have a lot of requirements for our forever home. All we really need are toys to play with, cat trees to climb, and a family who will give us lots and lots of attention! If you’ve been searching for the perfect kittens, you’ve found us!

The best way to ensure you have a good chance of adopting us is to fill out an online application at www.henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-cats/. We take applications on a first come, first served basis, so applying quickly is always recommended!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gillaspie and Madison, a Richmond Hemingway/Polydactyl kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hemingway/Polydactyl for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Hemingway/Polydactyl kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hemingway/Polydactyl breeders who help with Hemingway/Polydactyl rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
