Crystal is a 2 year old, 13 pound Min Pin mix full of love and pep! She will take her time getting to know and trust new faces but once she does she really comes out of her shell. Crystal is a very smart girl and studies her foster dog siblings' actions so she can fit in as one of the pack. She taught herself to use the doggie door and now her favorite thing is to go in and out of the house to soak up some sun and explore the backyard. She also likes to play with her small foster dog siblings, play fetch, go for walks, and chew on chew treats. She can be crated during the day as long as she gets exercise while not crated. She loves to cozy up in her dog bed next to her foster mom on the couch and will bury herself under the covers next to her at night. Crystal will bark a time or two at unfamiliar noises, but overall she is not a barker. She can be food protective but if fed in her crate with the door closed there aren't any issues. She did well with cats in her previous foster home as they were not runners. She would most likely be ok with bigger kids as long as they know how to play gently with her. She would be great as an only dog or an addition to any family. She is such a sweetheart and is ready for her forever home!If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at www.caws.org.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
