Bearly is a real cuddle bug with a loving personality. She purrs a lot, is playful and get along great with the other cats in her foster home. She can be a little shy and reserved at first, but warms up quickly once you earn her trust. Than she loves to be pet and snuggle up next to you. She is quite a climber and her favorite place is on top of the large cat tree. She enjoys all kind of toys, but loves when her foster mom tosses one of the toy mice so she can fetch it and bring it back. At a glance her fur appears to be solid black, but in the sunlight you can see an underlining tabby pattern shining through.

This kitty is currently in foster care waiting for a forever home.

What is foster care?

As a rescue organization, we think that it is so important to socialize kittens while they are young. This is why we do not like to see kittens growing up in cages and instead we socialize them in caring foster homes. While in our foster care, they are given lots of love and attention in a home environment. Many are socialized with children and other animals. Once our kittens have been spayed/ neutered, tested for diseases, flea treated, and current on vaccines we move them to the shelter as soon as space frees up for them. When a kitten is “live” on our website, this means that they are spayed/ neutered and ready for adoption but we currently do not have room for them to stay at our adoption locations yet. Please email us to setup a meeting to have the kitten brought to the shelter to be seen. At times we may set the meeting for you to meet the kitten in the foster environment if he/she is she and is more comfortable in the foster home.

Thank you for choosing to adopt!

As a no-kill rescue, we can only bring in and save more cats and kittens in need as our current cats and kittens are adopted. This is why we say that when you adopt one cat or kitten you are actually saving TWO lives! One is the current cat or kitten that you are adopting, the second is the one that we now have room to save and place into our safe shelter.

About The Cat Corner:

The Cat Corner was founded by a very passionate and devoted animal lover, Martha Nicholson. After seeing an overwhelming number of cats homeless and being euthanized, Martha was determined to open a no-kill shelter to make a difference in these cats' lives. In 1981, Martha purchased an old barber shop at her own expense and opened The Cat Corner in Hampton, Virginia. The Cat Corner is a completely volunteer operated organization and is solely funded by donations from the community. Because of the help of our caring and hardworking volunteers and the support and donations from our community, we have been able to uphold Martha's dream and make a difference in countless lives...and doing so for over three decades!

The Cat Corner, Inc. is a nonprofit, all-volunteer-run organization that does not receive any federal, state or local government funding. We depend solely from the generosity of caring individuals from our community to continue to do our work.  www.TheCatCornerInc.com
