I got Simon through a family friend that had 4 newborn poppies. My niece got 2, I got Simon and they kept one. I believe his father was a Cairn Terrier and his mother a Chihuahua. He was very shy and reserved at first but warmed up to us and now he is just a happy, tail-wagging dog that is ready to play at any time of the day. He loves to go for long walks and hiking. He always find something to amuse himself with, like chasing birds, squirrels, or trying to catch a fly on summer days. He enjoys playing or sunbathing in the backyard, but wants to make sure that people he loves are close by. He loves going to the dog park and is very social with other dogs. He hasn’t been around cats, so I do not know how he will react. He is great with kids, I have small nieces and nephews that visit often. He is very gentle and plays with them and if he gets more attention than he can handle, he would go to his bed in the other room for a few minutes, then joins the party again.
His favorite things are to play fetch (he doesn’t easily give up the toy and wants me to chase him) or to snuggle up right next to me on the couch (although he is only allowed on one couch and not on any other furniture) specially when it gets chilly and I throw a blanket on. He sleeps on his favorite dog bed with his little blanket in the bedroom, and wakes up early in the morning to great me with kisses. He is healthy and about 12 ponds, but sadly I don’t have time to take him out for walks or hiking, so he is inactive and gaining weight. That's why I am looking for a good home and a loving family for him so he an continue to be happy and healthy.
