I'm a sweet young girl with a friendly and loving personality,  I lost my home due to financial issues and not because I did anything wrong.  I'm very playful and my favorite toys are balls - they're so much fun to chase around!  My former owner said that I like to be petted and am a lap cat.  I didn't live with kids but was fine with children who came to visit.  It's sad that I'm at the shelter, but I'm excited to find a forever home where I'll never have to worry about being homeless again!

About Humane Society of Jefferson County

About Our Shelter...

The HSJC is located in Jefferson, Wisconsin and is a small, privately run non-profit shelter that has been in operation since 1922. We recently celebrated our 90th year of caring for dogs, cats, birds and other small animals in need. Each year, close to 1,000 pets find sanctuary at our shelter. We put forth great effort to reunite owners with lost pets and to find good new homes for those who need a second chance. We do not impose a time limit on how long a healthy, adoptable animal may stay with us as they wait to be adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...

The main shelter is located at W6510 Kiesling Rd, Jefferson, WI 53549. We are open to the public from 1pm to 6pm Monday through Saturday.

Our satellite cat adoption facility is located inside of PetSmart West at 8210 Plaza Dr, Madison, WI 53719 and is open during the store hours of 9:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Saturday and 9:00am to 7:00pm on Sunday.

Our Adoption Process...

Application must be completed. Homeownership verification or landlord/condo association approval is required. All animals in the home must be current on vaccinations. All household members must meet the animal or, if not possible, must confirm that they are in agreement with adding the animal to the household. For dogs, if there are any dogs currently living in the home, a supervised interaction with the prospective dog is required. Additional requirements may apply depending upon the individual animal. We do not do same-day adoptions.

Upon adoption, the adopter is required to sign a contract agreeing to provide the animal with the care and medical treatment he needs throughout his life. They also must agree to provide the animal with an indoor home and if at any point in the animals life the adopter is unable to keep the animal, the animal must be returned to the shelter.
