* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted:

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 3rd from 1-4pm and Sunday, December 4th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Licorice is a 7 year old Lab who is probably 35lbs. He's a small dude. He's not a big guy and he has a small head like a Greyhound. He is a very sweet loving dog. He has a gentle, kind temperament. He was found and a wonderful family took him in. They posted signs, went to the local shelters, etc and no one came forward. Poor guy. The family had 2 other dogs and wasn't really looking for a third and so we took him in so we could find him a fabulous home.

Licorice is an option to go to a home with other dogs. He can be with big and small dogs. He is an option to go to the dog park, doggy day camp or to join a family with doggy siblings. He could also do really well living by himelf and her people. He could go to work with mom or dad or hang out at home. He could also even really live in an apartment or condo. He's not too big and he doesn't require a ton of exercise.

Licorice is an option for a first time dog owner as long as they are prepared for owning a dog and have done the necessary research prior to applying. If there are children in the home he is an option to go to a home with kids over the age of 8.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services-Corona

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal organization that has been in existence for the past 10 years. We do adoptions in No. CA, So. CA, AZ and Las Vegas. We began to take dogs from So. CA to other areas as our economy has deteriorated and yet our shelters are imploding with owner surrenders and stray dogs. We had to look outside our area as well as continue to diligently find fabulous homes within So. Ca.

We are a dedicated group of folks who are passionate about animals and committed to reducing the euthanasia rate in our local shelter. We can not save the world and we will not attempt to do so. We will simply take responsibility for those who cross our path. We pledge to make every effort to find as many FABULOUS homes as possible for our animals. We will not agree to place an animal if we do not believe it is the best match. Our dogs are our priority but we also believe that in order to place animals, the humans also have to be respected and we have to build relationships with them.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do adoptions by appointment only once we have an approved application and an approved interview.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a 4 page application, an interview regarding home, people in the home, dog and whether the dog is a match, a meet and greet with family and dog and then a legally binding contract.
