Despite a very unkind past, Lucky is still quick with a wag of the tail, loves attention, and just seems so appreciative to finally be wrapped up in a loving foster home. He eats well (still needs to gain A LOT of weight), and he gets along well with other dogs. He also loves to sleep! At this point, he's got a lot of catching up on rest in a safe environment. Please apply to adopt Lucky today!
Greetings! We are a non-profit organization devoted to the rescue of homeless basset hounds in Houston, TX, and surrounding regions. Bassets are rescued from shelters or received as owner turn-ins and placed into foster homes. Medical conditions are addressed and all unaltered animals spayed and neutered prior to being adopted by their new "forever families". In addition to rescue efforts, our group is also focused on promoting a sense of community amongst those who are owned by a basset hound (or would like to be).

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
