Libby's Story...
Libby is a 3 year old female Lab mix that was found stray near Adams. She has a very even-tempered, well-adjusted personality. She LOVES playing with our other Shelter dogs and has done well with people too. In our Shelter environment, we cannot draw firm conclusions as to whether she is housetrained or not, although she does a very good job of keeping her kennel pen clean. Libby is the type of dog that we anticipate will make a very smooth adjustment to being someone's family pet. Libby is spayed and current with all vaccinations. Libby's adoption fee is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and prospective homes. This form can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail (no phone calls please).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Libby, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
