This sweet boy was due to be euthanized because of an injury to his tail and his anxiety in a kennel environment so he kept re injuring it. He came into the shelter with his tail broken in half. It had to be amputated partically above the break line as there was no fixing the tail. Unfortunately with his kennel anxiety in the shelter environment, he kept re opening the surgical site.
Now after several surgeries, Bear has a nub of a tail that is more easily maintained and less likely to open. he is all healed up and ready for his forever home.
He is an amazing boy with a kind gentle soul and will be the best possible friend you could ask for. he is a big boy who doesn't realize how big he is, so older kids are a must. He loves to walk and needs a lot of exercise to be a happy boy. He would be a great marathon runner.
He is definitely people oriented and will follow you to the couch for the football game, the bathroom, bedroom or around the yard and take in all the smells and sights while you garden or what ever happens to make you smile.
He will definitely make you smile. When he looks at you with those big brown eyes you can't help but want to love him. He wants to be around his people all the time, so he will not be quiet about being away fromt them.
He loves squirrels and will let you know when he has treed them. He is learning that one or two barks is enough to let you know.
He is social and happy and is enjoying life. He is house broken and walks well on a leash, knows his basic commands and wants to please.
