My name is Shemo and I joined CAA Rescue from a family who surrendered me to them. I was crated most of the day all alone wearing a bark collar all of my days. I wore it so very long that when it was finally taken off of me there were wounds all around my neck where the collar burned into my skin
I was doing really awesome with my foster mom and then got adopted which I was pretty happy about but one night while I was off leash in a park down town Montreal I got spooked and ran away. I ran and ran and ran non stop all night … I was finally found the next morning with many thanks to the Montreal SPCA and returned to my family. But honestly I have never ever been the same since
Now I am more fearful, it was really traumatic for me that night. I wish I could tell you all the panic my heart felt and I cannot seem to shake that feeling off
I was brought back into foster care at CAA Rescue with the hopes that a change in environment would do me some good… and it did help a little but not a lot
I am not towards my humans or my kitty friends as I love them all very much! Just with other dogs … I need a calm and patient loving experienced guardian out of the city with no other dogs in the home. I bark and lunge when I see other dogs making walks extremely stressful for me and for my humans
I am house trained and leash trained but I need a sensitive touch to help me over come my fear I think I can do it
