HISTORY: BIG BOY 2 was part of a TNR program and rereleased where he found his way to a kind person who fed him for about a year. Later this person could no longer keep him and took him to the Santa Fe Humane Society Animal Shelter, and he was transferred to Felines & Friends when found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats he has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households”. According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. If you would like to consider BIG BOY 2 for adoption but need more information on FIV, please feel free to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
so we can provide you with links to educational websites.
TEMPERAMENT: BIG BOY 2 is a sweet kitty who hisses first and asks questions later. His hiss means nothing and he melts when petted. He adjusted quickly to his new foster home and is a loving and gentle cat. He would be fine as an only cat with a person who is home a lot to give him lots of attention; he also would probably be good with another confident cat or with a gentle dog. BIG BOY 2 is a big, handsome boy with a short coat and brown tabby markings.
