Montana's Story...
This is Montana, a sweet 35 lb Border Collie mix boy. He gets along with other dogs and cats and is just a lover boy. At 1 1/2 year old, he's playful, but happy to chill too. He has a skin condition that is being treated, but we expect it to clear up in a few weeks. It was caused by an untreated flea infestation and other neglect at a previous home. Montana needs a fenced yard (not invisible fence)
(An adoption fee of $250 is required.)
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email CHEW Dog Rescue at pawsontherun@gmail.com and ask for the adoption application form. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Montana, a Gig Harbor Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
