Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elmsford, NY 10523
Beauty Queen Athena was lucky enough to find a foster home! Here is what her devoted foster mom had to say about this 1 year old 50 lb. sweetheart:
"I think this girl is going to make some lucky adopter very happy. To describe her, I think Athena is the doggie version of a runway model. She reminds me of a graceful greyhound that carries her thin, slender frame on very long elegant legs. Her face has the definitive features of our All-American Pit Bull Girl, framed with a porcelain white silhouette, showing just a little hint of her nature-made eyeliner that surrounds her soft eyes- which have so many different expressions. Her coat is exactly the same colors as a caramel fudge sundae and I find myself calling her “Sweetie” more than her goddess namesake.
Athena loves to walk, play fetch and let the zoomies loose in the backyard. Give this girl a ball and she's in bliss! She likes to nudge my hand with her nose every few minutes during our walks as if to check in and say, “thank you, this is exactly what I wanted to do!” She's very affectionate, a big flirt, always offering hugs and kisses (especially to my husband). She likes other dogs, although she can be a bit overwhelming and a little pushy during play time. We keep the long lead on her when she’s outside with my dogs and I limit her to one playmate at a time. She’s super curious and absorbs training like a sponge. She walked on the treadmill for a solid 10 minutes yesterday and I only just introduced “walking" on the treadmill last weekend.
Athena loves treats and, believe it or not, loves her crate! There are so many dog crates in my house and Athena has tried out every one of them. When she’s being “too quiet” in our office, I go to check on her and she’s napping inside the crate, instead of on the fluffy pillow dog beds that are scattered around the office floor. She doesn’t have free-reign of the house yet. Any adopter that finds her will appreciate all of her amazing qualities."
Athena is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and housebroken and would be good with kids 10 and up. To meet her, please contact AmsterDog at 917 589 8414 or fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org. Thank you!
