Hello potential adopters! My name is Sydney, I am a 3-5 year old Yellow Lab/Shepherd mix. I found myself at a high kill shelter with only hours left to live. I wagged my tail so hard at all the adopters going by, and finally... someone picked me! I was so excited! They took me to the vet for a few vaccines, and the vet told them I was heartworm positive. I don't know what that meant, but the family retracted on their offer to adopt me. Did I not wag my tail enough? Was I not pretty enough? I found myself on my way back to the shelter, back on the euthanasia list. I was so sad and confused. A very special technician at the veterinary hospital decided to try and contact a few rescues before I went back to the shelter, and I got picked! They thought I was beautiful and worthy of saving. I have been so appreciative and excited every since! I have received the treatment I deserved for heartworms, and I am spayed, microchipped, and searching for my forever home! I have gray on my muzzle from living a hard life, but the vet thinks I am no older than 4-5 years old, and other than the heartworms I am perfectly healthy! Could I be the sweet, laid back girl you've been looking for? I am crate trained, house trained, dog friendly, cat friendly, and people friendly.
