Facts about Tigger

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red Tabby
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: B32Y1
  • Hair: Short
Tigger and his brother, Sammy, are an FIV positive bonded pair. They were fostered by our FIV positive foster Mom until she could no longer foster. They are sweet, playful, chatty boys who MUST stay together. FIV is feline aids. Just like human aids, it can NOT be transmitted to other cats via grooming, sharing food or water, playing, snuggling, or normal interaction. The only way it can spread is via deep muscular bite wounds (with intent to kill) and mating. Since neutered cats do not do either of those things, Sammy and Tigger pose no risk to other cats. FIV can not be transmitted to any other species, including humans. As for their own health, Sammy and Tigger need no extra special care other than keeping their vaccines current and making sure they stay inside at all times. Despite their FIV status, the boys are just like any other cats. They play, snuggle, romp, climb, and love to be pet. They especially like wet food and will meow to let you know when it is dinner time. Please consider giving these boys the loving home they deserve.

About Billy the Kidden Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Billy the Kidden Rescue is to improve the lives of displaced cats and kittens, and reduce feral cat populations in Hampton Roads, by socializing outdoor-born and unwanted kittens for adoption into forever homes.
We specialize in TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) and feral kitten socialization. We provide "working cats" to farms, barns, breweries, warehouses, vineyards, and other places. We also help with lost cats and kittens, long term fostering, SELECT rehoming situations, cat behavioral and nutritional advice, and infant kitten rescue.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations can be made to the Billy the Kidden Rescue spay/neuter account at either No More Chasin Tails in Newport News (757-255-8804) or our general Billy the Kidden Rescue veterinary account at Acredale Animal Hospital (757-523-6100) or by paypalling us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com or can be sent via mail to Billy the Kidden Rescue, PO BOX 16919, Chesapeake, VA 23328.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are available for Meet and Greets at their various fosters homes or at our cattery at Pups n Stuff in Virginia Beach for fosters who do not show animals in their home. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and a Board Member must approve all adoptions.
At Pups n Stuff, you can come see some of our ready to go adoptables. It is at 4330 Holland Rd. in Virginia Beach. The Store hours are Tu-Sat 12:00 - 8:00pm and Sundays 12:00 - 6:00pm Closed on Mondays. We do not have cattery staff on hand during all business hours. However if you let us know you are going we can be sure a staff member is there to meet you, so you can go in the cattery and play with the kitties! If you do go during a time when we aren't there you can look at the kitties through the window and pick up some of our information, but will have to come back actually play with them. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an adoption questionnaire to learn a bit about the home our rescue animals will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor only clause. Our adoption fees range from $25 to $130, depending on vetting costs. Our Career Cat adoption fee is $25. Our adoption fee for adults, vetted rehoming cases, special needs, and kittens over 6 months is usually $50- $75. Most kittens have an adiption fee of $100 if not microchipped and $130 if microchipped. Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family, especially the furry members.
