We target companion animals least likely to be spayed/neutered - those with low-income owners and stray cats - and help them get fixed so they do not contribute to pet overpopulation. Sometimes some of the cats we help cannot safely be returned to where they were found - for example they are sick or injured or multiple cats have been run over in the area. We rescue these cats, get them well, and find them safe, indoor homes. We rely on private donations and adoption fees to fund our program. We almost always spend more on vet care than the adoption fees we charge.

Our Adoption Process...
Email us at BCSSpayDay@gmail.com for an adoption application. You must have permission from your landlord if renting. Any other pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on their shots. You must plan to keep the cat indoors. Once you application is approved (usually within a day or two), we will arrange for you to meet with a cat or kitten that fits what you are looking for. The adoption contract requires you to return the cat to us if you are ever unable to keep him/her for any reason. Adoption fees range from $40-80. Cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered, microchipped for identification, and are up to date on their shots (FVRCP and rabies).

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
