Prince Bassett Buddy's Story...
I'm One of Bassett Buddies Transport!
My husband and I have always held a deep affection for dogs. In our view they are, perhaps, God's most precious and perfect creations. They give without asking, love without question, and never judge. Their affection and devotion is complete. These beautiful traits that dogs seem to have by nature serve as examples that we humans could spend a lifetime trying to emulate. We feel a strong desire to help those innocent dogs who have, by no fault of their own, found themselves in need of our care and support. We are delighted and honored to be able to help in this way. Always, Betsy Bassett
Prince was born about October 19, 2013 and weighs about 45 lbs. Sadly, no information is collected, or passed on, from the southern shelter and we will be learning as we go and so will you. Prince, has been wonderful with all of us and with the other dogs, but it may be good to feed separately as there is a small amount of food guarding. We would like to add that the vet guessed his birth date and his teeth look good, but we are feeling that he may well be a few years older. We'll have to leave that up to you and your vet. Prince's visit to the vet consisted of three small subcutaneous masses being removed from his left chest wall and one similar mass was removed from the umbilical/abdominal area. The masses were diagnosed as lipomas with no concern for malignancy. He also had to have an incisor removed due to a fracture and infection. Thankfully, this guy was previously neutered so we didn't have to go 'there' too! He is definitely a Lab mix, but his fur is a bit dense so we through the possibility of some Husky in too. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $200.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
