Fred is a female who was named Fredericka but Fred quickly became her name. She is a 6 year old Torbie who would love to have a home where she could sit in someone's lap and purr away the day! She just adores being petted and will purr louder and louder and even drool a little because she is so happy to be on your lap! She used to go in and out during the day but in the last year made herself a homebody and chose the comfort of soft blanket on a chair. She gets along with other cats but is a loner and would be just as happy being the only spoiled cat in the house! Loves canned food & treats. She loves a hot, sunny window and sleeping heat vent in the winter! She is a true heat-seeking cat!
Fred knows her name and will come when called! Has lived with cat-friendly dogs.

About Monroe County Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
