Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, February 18th from 1-4pm and Sunday, February 19th from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This cat will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, February 4th from 1-4pm and Sunday, February 5th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our cats or dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Turkey is a 1-2 year old tabby sweetheart that mothered the Thanksgiving litter. She has the biggest heart and loves nothing more than cuddling with her favorite humans. Her short coat is very soft and she takes pride in keeping it clean at all times-which is quite the feat given that she was raising 8 kittens! She is very good about using the litterbox and can roam freely about the house without an accident. She will play with toys occasionally, but she’d much rather curl up in your lap by the fire.
Despite her loving personality she also enjoys her solitude. Every day she makes sure to take several well-deserved breaks from parenting and lay on *her shelf* for some me time. Turkey is something of a foodie and enjoys every meal with a deep appreciation. Her favorite treat is sharp cheddar cheese and though her system can only handle a few small pieces, she will spend a good portion of snack-time trying to convince you otherwise. She is an incredibly nurturing mother and has done an exceptional job raising her litter-it’s now her time to be loved, cared for, and pampered in her very own furever home. She would be a great option for a home with kids and/or a dog but both would have to be old enough to have a calmer temperament as she needs her peace and quiet-she’s more than earned it.
Turkey's adoption fee is $100. She is spayed, current on shots, dewormed, frontlined, microchipped and FELV/AIDS negative.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
