Facts about Opal

  • Breed: Siamese
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Medium
Opal is a gorgeous girl that was treated poorly. She had a loving family and then kids came along and she was pushed outside to basically fend for herself. She has lost a lot of faith in humans over time. In that span, she became what most would call feral. However, she is not that, she is just not as trusting. She prefers to be alone, sitting high looking down. Once she gets to know you, she will let you love on her but that trust is a difficult one to build and takes a lot of time. Opal will need an experienced adopter or even a feral colony to go to due to her love for the outdoors and hunting combined with a majority of her life so far. She does not do well with kids of any age or dogs of any sort. If interested in making her a part of her family or a part of a feral colony, please email the rescue and request either an adoption application or feral colony adoption application.

She will have all shots up to date and if not spayed at time of adoption, that will be the responsibility of the adopter/colony owner. A refundable $100 fee applies if she is not spayed and will only be refunded once a spay certificate from a licensed veterinarian is submitted within 30 days of adoption. Adoption fee is $180 and non-refundable.

Our Adoption Process...

Our usual fee to adopt is $180. If the pet is not already spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to an approved adoption application, a $100 deposit is collected and a spay/neuter contract must be signed stating the animal being adopted will be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption and a copy of certificate from a licensed vet/clinic must be provided to the rescue within 14 days after surgery. If not complied with, the $100 deposit is forfeited and animal can be reclaimed and put back up for adoption. An adoption application must be completed and submitted prior to any adoptions. All applicants must submit and agree to a home visit from an officer of the rescue. Background checks are conducted to verify no criminal or civil charges are pending or posted against potential adopter in regards to animal welfare. Once references and checks come back satisfactory, adopter is contacted and time is arranged for any surgeries and/or adoption. An adoption contract is then signed and agreed upon by both the rescue representative and adopter. A copy of the contract along with original vetting records go to the adopter. Original contract and copy of vetting records stays with the rescue.
